land of the midnight sun.
ok it's me again cos shiwen is a lazy bugger and is sipping juice out of a bowl. -.-
so anyway. things that have happened since the last update..
we met mr and mrs claus. from the north pole. real oldness, real fats, real deep hohoing voice, real beard! and real genuine fatherlyness. hahah. damn cute la :)
we also tossed sourdough pancakes at a pancake tossing competition! and singapore should be proud that we have one representative that made it into the hall of fame - miss xu yuxuan. hahah. she got a moose pancake which now hangs on her door in a ziplock. hehe.
we also had two days of orientation/meetings. (or as shiwen says: getting paid for being bored) thankfully the environment here is pretty lighthearted so it was not too bad! we also had pizza three days in a row. sickkk!
work is going into full swing. hotel has opened today. oh and i got my first tip! of $2. heheh. but work is so tiring :( nonstop cleaning cleaning cleaning and guess what, cleaning. zzzzzz.
oh and our meal plan has started! we had tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas (and yuxuan had liver&onions........) for dinner today! damn good (but damn alot) haha. our chef is mexican :D oh and we had spanish rice too. RICE RICE RICE!!!!!!!!!!! quesadillas are very good replacements for rotiprata. a bit of home there! but what we really want is CARROT CAKE. CHYESIM. CURRY PUFF. AND HOMECOOKED FOOD!! but guess what. we arent getting that for THREE MORE MONTHS. whine. pout. wail!!!
but nevertheless, we both agree that we made the right decision in coming here (despite dysfunctional internet) and so we are counting our blessings!
oh and daylight is virtually always present. it's now almost 9pm and it looks like 12noon. the sun is scorching!! (but the wind is damn cold haha) last night i was up till 3am and i saw the sky turn the slightest bit of dark (like 7plus pm sky) around 1-2am and by 3, it was lightening up again. very strange feeling. hahah.
oh yes, another bit of singapore. adel smartly brought a mahjong set so we've been happily mahjonging away :D :D last night i won $3! and shiwen unfortunately lost $2. haha but it keeps us occupied. and me happy cos now i get to play mahjong regularly. haha and we have good mahjong kakis. :D
ok anyways, i'm going to bed soon. i have a 16room day tomorrow! yikes. night all and of cos, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM! :D sorry i couldnt be there to celebrate with you! hope you had a great one anyways :)

at last my darling is appreciating homecooked food:) keep up that postive attitude and continue counting your blessings. hopefully the perpetual daylight experience is not disturbing your sleep pattern. miss you too. my birthday is nothing special but thankful that you have been one of my blessings my dear. love you
