one night in taipei.
first and foremost. china airlines was very decent. seat was comfortable enough and they had inflight entertainment. for the flight to taipei at least. i watched Stomp the Yard! which i thought was pretty cool. heh. food was alright too but i mostly kept to the bread and butter.
got to our hotel and dumped our stuff then decided to explore the area. it was around 10pm by then. heh
anyway, taipei is the land of (in no particular order): motorcycles, smellful air, cute guys (!!), 7-elevens (there's one every 100m literally), no sidewalks, street food (tho we had none cos we were afraid of getting food poisoning haha), dogs, cute kids, cakes, cuteness, NICE PEOPLE and cheap everything! in short we loved taipei :)
ok so we decided to walk to the night market..
the streets are pretty exciting looking. hahaha.
night market!!
the air is quite bad over there unfortunately. so face masks like these are common! and of cos, they are CUTE!
we bought two. hahah.
i love foreign groceries!! anyway after walking through the night market we were STARVING so dropped by the 7-eleven nearest to our hotel to get ourselves some safe instant noodles. and taiwan instant noodles rocks! and so does The 7-eleven Guy who was oh so helpful and kind :)
TAIWAN HAS DAMN GOOD ICECREAM!!
it is seriously yummy. omg i miss it. and it's low in calories!! what more can you ask for.
meet adel and yuxuan our two travelling buddies and fellow tok housekeepers! :D
the next morning, we woke up early for our free breakfast which was (quite sad). heh. then we headed out for some last minute walking around. walked past a petshop and i met the most adorable little thing (after rusty).
omg how can you not love him!!!
heh then, because taipei is the land of cakes, we decided to finish up our money on some gorgeous looking cakes!
YUMMY. and cheap too!
the aftermath. haha
off to taipei airport after that for our flight to anchorage!
this is an awesome picture and it captures the moment of carefreeness before Panic Attack. heheh.
in transit! look at all those little yellow cabs behind. pretty lanterns galore!
to conclude, i really liked taipei and it's people. couldnt have asked for a better stopover :)
and shiwen has pics too!
of dangerous 'crossings' in taipei (it seems to me that the pedestrian has to step out onto the road before the cars would stop)
and instant noodles which mr nice at 7/11 help us cook!!
and dynamic night markets

and! the view from our hotel room:)
